The Bureau of Labor Statistics' April-2011 Consumer Price Index (CPI) Summary indicates the seasonally adjusted CPI came in at 224.433 vs. 223.49 in March-2011, a 0.943 point, or 0.42%, sequential increase; year-over-year the CPI increased 6.81 points, or 3.13%, from 217.625. The outcome was in line with the consensus forecast. Briefing.com reported the consensus forecast at 0.4%.
